NEW Quality Manager Job role opportunity within Qualitetch

Qualitetch Components Ltd is a leading manufacturer of thin gauge metal components for a wide range of customers based in various manufacturing sectors including Aerospace, Automotive, Scientific Electronic and broadcast industries. Due to rapid growth we currently have some exciting positions based at our Cambridgeshire site including a Quality Manager.

Reporting to the Managing Director, the Quality Manager will be required to manage and develop through continuous improvement the Quality system within Qualitetch. Ensure compliance to existing quality standards and develop the quality manual and system to support evolving customer requirements. With the aim of exceeding customer expectation.

Hours 38 hours per week, The post holder may be required at times to work outside his/her normal working hours for the effective performance for the duties of the post

Responsible for coordinating activities required to meet world-class quality standards and targets.

To ensure that the products supplied meet both external and internal requirements, including regulatory requirements and Customer expectations.

Monitor and advise on quality performance, producing data and reports on performance measured against set indicators

Liaising with other departments and suppliers within and without the organisation to ensure the QMS is functioning properly.

Lead problem resolution process in cross functional format that supports production needs and increases customer satisfaction.

Principle Duties.

Manage and drive key plant and policy deployment activities.

Manage quality resources- including direct support and supervision of Quality engineers and inspection dispatch staff. Objective setting and performance appraisals

Promote quality achievement and performance improvement throughout the organisation

Ensure that the set QA objectives and metrics are achieved

Agree standards and establish clearly defined quality methods for staff to apply.

Enhance and maintain controls and documentation procedures.

Collect and analyse customer performance data and implement improvement plans when required.

Monitor the effectiveness of the QMS through internal audits implementing any corrective actions with the relevant managers.

Ensure QE involvement in Technical aspects & risk assessment phase of contract review.

Support Customer visits and external audits.

Desirable Criteria

Solid understanding and experience of working with ISO9001/AS9100.

Significant experience in application of 8D problem solving methodologies.

5 years working experience of Quality Engineering within a manufacturing environment ideally SME based. Experience of leading teams while cooperating closely with other team leaders across a range of engineering disciplines.
