The End Game

Here at Qualitetch, there is a stringent process in place to ensure that all the parts and components produced by us are of the highest quality, and are as economically viable as possible, for our customers. While the components that we make are bespoke to each client – whether in shape, size or volume; they are all made with precision and skill throughout the  etching process.

Once designs are drawn up and approved, the chosen metal needs to be cleaned to remove surface contamination and ensure that the surface is prepared for adhesion. The application process is then carried out and cured, before the process is transferred to the metal work team.

Cleaning

The cleaning process is in place to ensure any oils, grease or fluid residues are removed from the surface of the metal, as these can interfere with the adhesion stage of the process. Depending on the metal in use, this decides the metal cleaning chemistry.

Chemical cleaning uses a mixture of acid and degreasing solution; often applied under heat and left to soak a while. They are then rinsed and water cleansed. Click here to learn more about our etching process.

Precision Techniques

The application of photoresist occurs almost immediately after the cleaning process, to reduce the risk of the metal becoming contaminated again during the  etching process.

Here at Qualitetch, we use dry photoresist film in our etching process. Dry film photoresist metal sheets can be laminated whilst still wet, at a controlled speed. Adequate developing time must be undertaken, to ensure the metal sheet is ready for the etching processes and finishes, which are all provided by Qualitetch.

Despite the complex sounding techniques and methods involved in the  etching process, all of our technicians are highly skilled and prepared to undertake bespoke instructions from our clients.
